Tuesday 6th we landed in Santorini, we
didn't get up to much because we had to get the 6 o'clock plane to Santorini in
the morning. The next day we took a taxi to Fira, santorinis main town. I
didn't expect the amount of tourists. Just to let you know that a lot of people
stop I front of you whilst your walking to take a picture, It's a busy area!
After lunch we went around looking at shops and I was quite surprised when I
found a Swarovski and pandora. I found heaven.. The mac cosmetics store, as I
had money to spend and my foundation was running low I bought myself a new
liquid foundation (Yay!!). This time I bought the right shade too. To me I
found Fira the best town to do some shopping, I even bought some gifts for a
few friends.
Thursday - we went to Oia, Which took 30 minutes
to get there and back. The white houses and hotels are beautiful, the place is
very picturesque. If your planning to go for the day of a few hours I'd
recommend some comfy flats. Oia is a beautiful town, no wonder why it's a must
see. At lunch we stopped at this amazing tea room called Melenio and I'm not
kidding... they had the most amazing pancakes and cappuccino that I've even
had. We enjoyed it that much that we even traveled back to Oia 4 times throughout
the week getthe same thing. Again I warn you about people taking pictures. The
funniest time was when we were having our lunch and out of no where this couple
takes out their tripod and camera then start having a mini shoot in the
restaurant. After lunch we walked some more and I found a cute silver sterling
ring.
Friday - I had break fast in bed, it was a perfect way to start that day. Everything was fresh and the pain au chocolate was warm as I like it to be. Then we spent the afternoon in Fira, I wasn't planning to buy a lot of things but I did.
The days after we hired a quad bike to get around, it was so much fun. We got to visit other towns and beaches, plus at the start of the week the weather was too hot to lye around so it was a bonus. We got to visit Oia every lunch and then go to Fira at night to watch the sunset and it was closer to our hotel. Plenty of crepes and pancakes were eaten in this period (Renewing my gym membership when I get home!!). I was so sad to be leaving to go back home, it was perfect holiday and I can't wait to return again one day.
